John, Loria, Rachel, Peter and Rebekah Preston
John and Loria Preston are the founders of Preston Music Academy. They have both been teaching children for over 35 years. Both John and Loria have a Washington State Teaching Certificate and a Master's In Curriculum and Instruction.
The Prestons believe children are naturally creative and learn best in a positive and loving environment. They want to help children develop a love for music that will last a lifetime. And encourage kids to become lifelong learners who enjoy listening to and playing music. Preston Music Academy encourages children in their musical development through creative and engaging lessons, learning music theory through electronic and fun review games, composing, learning to play from lead sheets and playing familiar songs that they know.

At Joyful Academy of Music parents enjoy online payment options, hassle free make-up lessons and stress free piano practice.
All beginning students learn their music during piano lessons. Students leave excited to go home and play their songs. This takes the pressure off the parents to "make" their student practice.

Meet The Prestons
John and Loria Preston are the founders of Joyful Academy of Music. They have both been teaching children for over 35 years. Both John and Loria have a Washington State Teaching Certificate and a Master's In Curriculum and Instruction. Loria taught piano lessons in high school and college. When her kids wanted to begin teaching piano she started teaching piano again. It is a joy helping them learn how to teach.
Rachel Preston has a BA in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She began teaching piano at age 13 and directing music camps by age 17.
Rachel is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through Music Teachers National Association. She has also received the designation of Group Piano Teaching Specialist through Music Teachers National Association.
Peter Preston has been playing the piano for 17 years and teaching piano for 8 years. He has performed in many piano competitions and honors recitals. Peter enjoys accompanying for school choirs and musicals. He also has experience playing in church worship band and jazz band.
Rebekah Preston helps plan Music Camps, games, recitals and special events for Joyful Academy of Music. Rebekah enjoys playing the piano, singing, dancing and musical theater.
