Meet the Prestons
John and Loria Preston
​John and Loria are the founders of Joyful Academy of Music. They have both been teaching children for over 35 years. Both John and Loria have a Washington State Teaching Certificate and a Master's In Curriculum and Instruction. Loria taught piano lessons in high school and college. When her kids wanted to begin teaching piano she started teaching piano again. It is a joy helping them learn how to teach.
Rachel Preston
Rachel has a B.A. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She began teaching piano at age 13 and directing music camps by age 17. Rachel is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through Music Teachers National Association. She has also received the designation of Group Piano Teaching Specialist through Music Teachers National Association.
Peter Preston
Peter has been playing the piano for 17 years and teaching piano for 8 years. He has performed in many piano competitions and honors recitals. Peter enjoys accompanying for school choirs and musicals. He also has experience playing in church worship band and jazz band.
Rebekah (Preston) Brown
Rebekah helps plan Music Camps, games, recitals and special events for Joyful Academy of Music. Rebekah enjoys playing the piano, singing, dancing and musical theater.
